Villa Athiná is located on the west coast of Crete between the world famous beaches of Elafonisi and Fallasarna - around 5 kilometres from the monastery of Chrisoskalitisa and 10 kilometres from the pretty mountain villages of Elos and Kefali.

This is magnificent unspoiled genuine Greek Island mountain countryside, with no recognition of tourism anywhere nearby.

Much of the beach is rock and pebbles here so the surf and its sound is evocatively beautiful and the water fresh and sparkling clean. There are around twenty houses in the hamlet in total so one feels alone but not lonely. In the centre of the hamlet is a group of six houses, all built in recent years, of which Athiná is one. These beautiful holiday houses blend local materials and traditional craftsmanship with the very latest in both building techniques and interior design and style.

Approached from a small road, Athiná has its own private entrance leading to a broad sweeping terrace that runs the width of the house - all of which face the sea. The swimming pool is at the front of the terrace and neither are overlooked by other buildings, or roads, or pathways etc.

Leading off the huge terrace and swimming pool area takes us into the cool yet welcoming hallway with the sitting room, dining room and kitchen to the right and two of the magnificent bedrooms off the left.

A beautiful wooden staircase leads up to the second floor and two more bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and two have twin beds plus a baby cot and extra sofa bed if required. All four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and one has a Jacuzzi built in.

The house is beautifully decorated with superb colour choice and care, which, in combination with the stone and wood, manages to be cool and Mediterranean at the same time as it is warm, welcoming and cosy.

The living room seats nine/ten people, as does the dining room and there are two additional outside dining areas seating eight each. The kitchen is equipped with everything – refrigerator, freezer, microwave, full size cooker and grill, dishwasher and washing machine.

All the rooms are luxuriously appointed down to every last detail and feature air conditioning, television and radio. In the living room there is a satellite television, DVD player and a stereo system.

Outside there is a barbecue, garden chairs, beach chairs, parasols and sunbeds. At the rear of the house there is garden with trees, bushes, flowers and herbs.

Athiná is for a family or group of people who want to get completely away from the crowds and retreat into luxury - not at all for those who want the hustle and bustle of shops and tourists, or who need others to entertain them.

The house is private but not completely isolated. There is a small grocery shop just 200m away and the Cretan Kitchen there will be happy to cook meals to order and even deliver them to you on days when you really don’t want to do anything at all!

Our rental pricing structure is very straightforward and based on the natural seasons of Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. We do not have complicated price bands that maximise prices around school holidays in any particular country. There are no hidden costs or casually mentioned extras as apparent afterthoughts - our prices include electricity, water and local authority charges, all linen, cleaning and immediate food supplies for arrival.

We always offer you the freedom to choose the day of the week when your holiday will begin and end and because we don't have weekly 'change-over days' you can rent for as long as you wish and come and go any day of the week – you choose!
